Help answer the question about fox news elections

Why does Fox News cover British Elections?
Why not Irelands elections? I am much more interested in the Irish than the smug brits.

  1. Guess Who says:

More informative with less bias reporting. Now I said less because, well that's obvious. The stone cold truth is it is just a better news channel. I know that's hard to swallow but its clear to those who watch them all equally to get all sides of a story to make their own decision on a subject.

  2. Rupert Murdoch doesn’t have nearly the influence that George Soros has on the political landscape.

  3. Nicholas says:

In an attempt to cover something that isn't about their own country in order to come off as a credible news source.

They don't care, nor do they care about Ireland. It's a ploy.

  4. Blog Lyrics says:

@cdnerds “Talk Radio and Fox news – CRUSHES everyone”

You’re giving credit to just one person:

Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. owns Fox News, The Wall St. Journal, the NY Post, 50 other TV stations…

Conservative Clear Channel Communications is the largest owner of AM, FM, short-wave radio, as well as 12 channels on XM radio. All of their stations are contracted to primarily use FoxNews for their news.

O’Reilly, Hannity, Beck, Limbaugh, et al = same boss and opinion: that of R. Murdoch.

  5. Blog Lyrics says:

@VinmanMJ23 I wouldn’t say that. Murdoch certainly has the same, if not more influence. Either way, they both have unprecedented influence. Wrong on many levels.

  6. @meh5meh Maybe now you think you’d live forever. But what about when you become too old to take care of yourself? Maybe you’ve lost your loved ones, or they didn’t really love you after all. What if you’re too old to tote that gun you use as the Law? What if you’re too sickly to walk more than a city block let alone work for a living? How would you feel when your HMO drops you because your healthcare robs them of too much profit? Wouldn’t you wish you had a gov’t to turn to? A social contract?

  7. Roger l says:

I think they need to interview Rupert Murdoch and ask him some hard hitting questions about his family's support of the Nazi's

  8. Anonymous says:

@meh5meh As for the media, wouldn’t you want a gov’t to provide limitations on how much one media outlet can own? After all, wouldn’t you prefer to trust access to what’s going on around you from a variety of sources, or by just one who happens to have a monopoly? For instance, past federal administrations have already allowed the FCC to lessen their oversight. Due to deregulation, for instance, we now have Rupert Murdoch owning most, and probably affecting all, conservative TV and radio….

  9. REMY D says:

If this turns out to be true, hold on to your wallet. The Dems will be raising your taxes so high to give to all of the victicrats that our economy will come crashing down…
They will cut and run from Iraq and millions will die in a civil war there…
AND the illegal immigrants here will start taking YOUR job and you will have to wait months to see a doctor!

    Liberty Over Liberalism!

  10. Mac says:

Nothing will happen. There will always be an outlet for one wing nut side or the other. For some reason, talking head channels always try to cater to the lowest denominator, and fox tapped into a huge base of stupid for their audience.

  11. emmo0920 says:

FOX News is a joke. It does not present the facts. It does not present opposing points of view. It merely pursues its pro-right wing, extremist, fundamentalist, elitist, racist, bigoted point of view.

  12. Main Topic says:

Bernie Goldberg is either dumb or insincere to not know this about Fox. O’ Reilly, on the other hand, is paid to be dumb. CNN was right to criticize. Roger Ailes — president of Fox and Murdoch flunkie — was media consultant for 3 U.S. Presidents, all of whom were Republican. Murdoch’s hero is Ronald Reagan. Reagan, after all, auhtorized the FCC to drop its Fairness Doctrine that would have denied a political machine like Murdoch’s NewsCorp to happen. Currently, Colin Powell’s son heads the FCC

  13. The more ridiculous they look, the more the Democrats will win.

And FOX is not doing too good and is making the loonies worse.

  14. Main Topic says:

@meh5meh “ i think we need gov only protecting our sovereignty/borders and to defend us from forgien powers. thats it”

If you need gov’t to protect you from foreigners, why wouldn’t you need gov’t to protect you from a near-by unscrupulous corporation, utiltiy, neighbor, contractor, liberal, conservative, etc. There’s no longer any public schools or oversight under your system. So who knows what the kids of your community are being taught to take with them into adulthood.

  15. @meh5meh The funny thing is that the past federal adminstrations that allowed the FCC to limit their restrictions of ownership were Republican. Now conservative radio and TV is primarily influenced by one man, Rupert Murdoch, who’s not even American, but an Australian. Murdoch currently owns FoxNews, SkyNews, about 60 other TV networks, the Wall St. Journal, NY Post, the London TImes, 20th-century Fox, and provides just about all the news that conservative radio uses and pundits react to.

  16. It looks that way, It seems to me that the McCain supporters here have waged a war on facts.

  17. @meh5meh Think about it. Here’s an example: Would you really prefer privitized roads to public roads? Aren’t you happy that there’s bridge inspections, etc.? Safety inspections for vehicles? You may take care of your own, but what about those poor slobs too lazy to do upkeep. Do you think they’d pay for repairs of their vehicles? They’re free to buy one, after all — once they marry the right person. How about the roads that they may buy? Aren’t you happy to have laws? Clean water? Consistency?
